November 18, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed a decree "On the deprivation of military and special ranks" of 21 former servicemen and employees of security agencies.

"Former servicemen and employees of various security agencies (persons of senior staff) are deprived of military and special ranks - a total of 21 people," reads the message, published in the Telegram-channel "Pool of the first."

It is noted that in 2020, during the aggravation of the socio-political situation, these people committed unlawful acts.

Earlier, September 23, BelTA reported that the presidential election in Belarus is scheduled for January 26, 2025. The same day Lukashenko said that he intended to run for the presidency. Later, he said that the republic was ready for the presidential election and would be able to respond to any provocations and interference, encountered during it.

Prior to that, September 10, Lukashenko said that his opponents want to "turn the country upside down," but they should fight not in the street with machine guns in their hands, but at the presidential elections. In addition, the president of Belarus offered his rivals to explain why they were fighting against the country and planning an armed invasion, while claiming that they were allegedly worried about Belarus.
