Russian Defense Ministry shows footage of the liberation of Novoalekseevka in the DNR

On November 18, the Russian Defense Ministry published footage of Russian Armed Forces (AF) combat operations during the liberation of the village of Novoalekseevka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR).

The footage shows that the servicemen, supported by an armored group, swiftly entered the forest belt and destroyed the enemy in the fortifications. The agency specified that, in addition, the fighters used attack drones to defeat groups of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), helping the attacking aircraft to advance.

"As a result of active and decisive actions, the servicemen took especially important positions and installed the Russian tricolor in the locality," the ministry said.

According to the ministry, in one of the basements where Ukrainian militants lived, Russian servicemen found flags with Nazi symbols and flags of foreign countries, which, according to preliminary data, were brought by foreign mercenaries.

The liberation of Novoalekseevka by the fighters of a unit of the Center Group of Forces became known earlier in the day. In the battles the enemy lost more than 500 servicemen, added in the summary of the department.

The day before, the Defense Ministry reported the liberation of the settlements of Leninskoye and Makarovka in the DNR. In addition, Ukrainian energy facilities used to support the enemy's actions, the infrastructure of the military airfield, production workshops and storage sites for drones were hit.

The special operation to defend Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
