In Priangarie, an elderly woman died in a fire because of an unlit cigarette

In the town of Usolye-Sibirskoye in the Irkutsk region, an elderly woman died as a result of a fire caused by an unextinguished cigarette. This was reported by the regional department of the Russian Emergencies Ministry in its Telegram channel.

The fire occurred on Monday, November 18, in a multi-storey building on Cosmonavtov Street. In one of the apartments, arriving rescuers found an 82-year-old woman without signs of life.

The MES inquirers found out that the cause of the fire was careless smoking.

The area of fire amounted to 2 square meters, IA IrkutskMedia specifies. Seven people and three pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire.

November 16, it was reported that in the village of Tyret in the Irkutsk region as a result of a fire in a private house killed a 60-year-old woman and her three-year-old grandson. The area of the fire was 3 square meters, the neighbors extinguished the fire on their own before the arrival of firefighters.
