PCR examination of water from sealed bottles, which allegedly caused the pupils of the capital's school № 1512 to contract an intestinal infection, showed that there were no viruses in it. This was reported in the press service of the Department of Education and Science of Moscow on November 18.
"According to preliminary results of PCR-study of bottled water from a sealed bottle, viruses are not detected, PCR-studies of school employees - negative", - stated in the message of the department.
It added that during the quarantine the educational process in this school will be remote.
Earlier in the day, the Moscow Department of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia reported that children at school № 1512 poisoned themselves by drinking water from the cooler. Because of this, a criminal case under Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Production, storage, transportation or sale of goods and products, performance of work or rendering of services that do not meet safety requirements") was initiated.
Director of the institution Elena Degtyareva stated that the children were diagnosed with intestinal infection, Rospotrebnadzor suspended the school. The agency, in turn, reported that the students were detected RNA norovirus type 2, 30 people from 12 classes sought help. It is specified that hospitalization of no one required, Rospotrebnadzor for investigation took samples of water and food from the school, and the staff passed the tests.
