Chinese-British crossover MG ZS started to be sold in Russia

Sales of the updated compact crossover MG ZS have started in Russia, the model has received Vehicle Type Approval (VTA) after passing all tests. This is stated in the message of the company "Mir-Distributor", which was received by "Izvestia" on November 18.

MG ZS is offered in two configurations, the price starts from 2.4 million rubles. The warranty is 3 years, or 100 thousand kilometers of mileage.

The length of the car is 4323 mm with a wheelbase of 2585 mm. The crossover is available with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with 114 hp and a variator, and with a 1.3-liter 156-horsepower turbocharged unit paired with a 6-speed automatic. Fuel consumption is 6.2 liters per 100 km. The drive is front-wheel drive only.

The list of equipment MG ZS includes a panoramic roof, diode headlights, 17-inch two-tone wheels, media system with a 10-inch screen and six speakers (there is support for Apple Carplay and Android Auto), electric seat adjustment. The trunk volume is 359 liters (1166 liters with the rear seats folded).

MG ZS was first presented in 2016 in China, in 2022 it underwent modernization. The production of cars is engaged in the concern SAIC. The company noted that the ZS is the best-selling model of the MG brand in the world. MG Motor was founded in the UK in 1924 and since 2007 is owned by the Chinese corporation SAIC Motor.

Mir-Distributor announced that the MG dealer network now includes 37 showrooms in 21 cities of Russia, three warehouses in Moscow and Yekaterinburg are stocked with spare parts for MG ZS, as well as MG5 and MG6, officially launched on the market this summer.

Earlier in the day it was reported that Moskvich automobile plant may postpone the start of sales of a new seven-seat crossover with the index 8 to next year. It is expected that the cost of the novelty will range from 2.8 million to 3 million rubles depending on the configuration.

Also on Monday, Chery began production of the new flagship Tiggo 9 crossover at its Qingdao facility. It will be the largest model in the Russian lineup. The company has started taking pre-orders, and the sales launch date will be announced in December.
