The number of Lada Kalina in Russia after 20 years from the beginning of production has been calculated

After 20 years since the beginning of Lada Kalina production, 826 thousand cars of this family have been registered in Russia. This was reported by the analytical agency "Autostat" on November 18.

More than 650 thousand copies belong to the first-generation cars, which were produced in 2004-2013. The remaining almost 176 thousand are cars of the second generation, which were produced in 2013-2018. The most common body type is the station wagon (43% of all Kalinas), hatchbacks account for 33%, the remaining 24% are sedans.

The largest volume of Lada Kalina is registered in the Samara region - 60.2 thousand units. Next in the rating are Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, Krasnodar and Stavropol Territories.

Analysts noted that the record sales of Lada Kalina was set in 2011, then Russians bought 136.4 thousand cars of this family. That year, "Kalina" became the best-seller in the Russian car market.

Earlier in the day it was reported that the car plant "Moskvich" may postpone the start of sales of a new seven-seat crossover with the index 8 next year. It is expected that the cost of the novelty will range from 2.8 million to 3 million rubles depending on the equipment.

Also on Monday, Chery began production of the new flagship Tiggo 9 crossover at its Qingdao facility. It will be the largest model in the Russian lineup. The company has started taking pre-orders, and the sales launch date will be announced in December.
