A new CD opened in the village of Sokol on Sakhalin Island

In Dolinsky District of Sakhalin Oblast, construction of a new Culture Center named after Vasily Kalkaev in the village of Sokol has been completed. The regional government reports about the opening of the local center of attraction on Monday, November 18.

The House of Culture has a 100-seat auditorium where concerts, plays, movie screenings and meetings will be held, as well as classrooms for dancing, vocal and other creative activities.

The new House of Culture was named after Vasily Kalkaev, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, honorary citizen of the village and the region. In the foyer a corner was dedicated to him, where photos and electronic board with facts of his biography were placed, IA SakhalinMedia specifies.

The house of culture was built with the funds of the federal and regional budgets within the framework of the program "Integrated Development of Rural Areas".
