US President Joe Biden may be removed from power even before his term expires if he allows the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) to strike Russian territory with US missiles. Such an option is possible, based on the country's Constitution, but still unlikely, expressed the opinion of American political scientist Malek Dudakov on Monday, November 18.

"Of course, Biden can be removed, using, for example, the 25th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which allows the transfer of powers to the vice president if more than half of the cabinet considers the head of state unable to fulfill his duties. Another thing is very unlikely that we will see this in the near future, given that Biden has a month and a half to go," the political scientist explained in a conversation with Lenta.Ru.

He added that the team of former US presidential candidate Kamala Harris is already calling on Biden to step down and make her the first woman president of the country. But the likelihood of the incumbent head of state's resignation remains very unlikely, the political analyst said.

"In fact, he will finish his term as president until January 20, and then there will be no need to change anything, because a new head of state Donald Trump will come with his Republican team," the political scientist concluded.

Meanwhile, on the same day, Deputy National Security Advisor to the US President John Feiner said that the White House did not directly confirm Ukraine 's authorization to strike Russian territory with ATACMS missiles and based its decisions on the situation on the battlefield.

Earlier, on November 17, The New York Times reported that Biden had authorized Ukraine to use U.S. long-range missiles to strike Russia, NSN reported. Le Figaro newspaper then wrote that the same decision was made by the French and British authorities, but then removed this information from the article, reports 360.ru. EU diplomacy chief Josep Borrell said afterwards that on November 18-19 the issue of lifting restrictions on strikes deep into Russia with European weapons will be discussed.

Commenting on these discussions, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov emphasized that Ukraine's possible permission to use US ATACMS missiles for strikes deep inside Russia would be a qualitatively new round of tension, RT reported. He called Moscow's position clear for everyone and recalled Russian President Vladimir Putin's warning to the West in this regard.

Western countries have stepped up military and financial support for Ukraine amid Russia's special operation to protect Donbass, which began on February 24, 2022. The decision to carry it out was made by the Russian president because of the aggravation of the situation in the region due to the increased shelling by Ukrainian troops.
