Schoolchildren who contracted an intestinal infection in Moscow were treated on an outpatient basis

Pupils of Moscow school № 1512, who contracted an intestinal infection by drinking water from the cooler, did not need hospitalization, they received outpatient care. This was reported in the press service of Rospotrebnadzor on November 18.

"At the time of the closure of the corps, 30 people from 12 different classes applied to the polyclinic. Assistance was provided on an outpatient basis, without hospitalization. In the sick children according to the results of studies of clinical material revealed RNA norovirus type 2", - stated in the message of the department.

It said that specialists immediately conducted an epidemiological investigation of infections. In particular, they took daily food ration, water from all coolers, took washes of the food unit surfaces, analyzes from its workers and from the school staff who were in contact with children. All these samples are being examined in the testing laboratory center of the FBUZ "Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology in Moscow". Causes and conditions of occurrence of acute intestinal infection (AIE) are being clarified.

Rospotrebnadzor added that the situation is under strict control.

Earlier in the day, the Moscow office of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia reported that children in school № 1512 poisoned themselves by drinking water from the cooler. Because of this, a criminal case was opened under Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Production, storage, transportation or sale of goods and products, performance of work or rendering services that do not meet safety requirements").

Later in the day, the director of the school, Elena Degtyareva, reported that the children had been diagnosed with intestinal infection, and Rospotrebnadzor suspended the school.
