The victory of Republican Donald Trump in the US presidential election has caused an increase in geopolitical uncertainty. The newspaper El Pais wrote about this on November 18.

"The return of the Republican tycoon to the White House from January 20 next year, when both chambers will be dominated by Republicans, increases uncertainty in the foundations of international relations," the publication said.

In addition, the material indicates that with the return of Trump may increase doubts about the role that Washington will play in establishing a geopolitical balance over the next four years.

It is noted that concerns about the future term of Trump's presidency are increasing in both Europe and Latin America because of the upcoming change of American course in the United States. The publication draws attention to the conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East, as well as the escalating trade tensions between China and the West.

According to the authors of the article, commenting on the G20 summit held in Rio de Janeiro, the Brazilian authorities believe that such important issues as eradicating hunger and poverty, promoting environmental change, reforming the UN, are unfairly overshadowed by conflicts. It is also noted that the summit's final declaration as of Nov. 17 was discussed in relation to items that relate to the situation in Ukraine and the Middle East.

The publication suggests that Trump's term in office could bring serious "challenges" in states such as Ukraine or Mexico.

Earlier, on November 15, American political scientist Malek Dudakov said that we should expect significant changes in US foreign policy after Trump's inauguration. According to him, compared to 2016, Trump's team is now much more "Trumpist". The political analyst believes that the new US leadership will focus on leveraging limited American resources only in key areas such as China and the Middle East. No one will give money to Ukraine for nothing, and the main expenses will be shifted to Europe.

Before that, on November 12, former Democratic Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard said that Trump's goal is to prevent World War III. She noted that all diplomatic measures should be tried before sending the US Armed Forces to hot spots and this is one of the reasons why many Americans voted for Trump.

The election for the 47th president of the United States was held on November 5. In the national vote, Trump received 51% of the vote, while Democratic candidate Kamala Harris received 47.4%. Later, the politician, speaking to supporters, called himself the 47th President of the United States and said that his goal as head of state considers the end of military conflicts in the world.
