Tverskoy court of Moscow sentenced two men, who desecrated the memorial to servicemen - participants of the special operation, to 2.5 and three years in prison. This was reported on Monday, November 18, in the press service of the capital's courts of general jurisdiction.
"Golikov Daniel Valerievich, Kozlovsky Andrey Vladimirovich were found guilty <...> The court finally appointed Golikov D.V. punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of 2 years 6 months with serving the sentence in a penal colony. A.V. Kozlovsky finally appointed punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of 3 years with serving the sentence in a penal colony," - stated in Telegram-channel.
The defendants were charged with crimes under p. "a" part 2 of article 243.4 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Destruction or damage to memorial structures perpetuating the memory of those who died in defense of the Fatherland or its interests") and part 2 of article 214 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Vandalism").
As specified by "RIA Novosti", during the court proceedings it was established that in March they desecrated a spontaneous memorial to the participants of the SVO in the center of Moscow.
Earlier, on November 12, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation opened a criminal case against Lithuanian citizen Valdas Bartkevicius, who desecrated the mass grave of soldiers of the Great Patriotic War in Sujansky district of Kursk region. The defendant was charged in absentia with rehabilitation of Nazism, damage to a memorial site and public justification of terrorism.
