Shooting of the spy series "On the trail of the beast" with Pavel Kharlanchuk for REN TV has started

Filming of the 12-part spy drama began in the Leningrad Region and will continue in St. Petersburg and in the locations of the Voenfilm-Medyn film complex (Kaluga Region). The project is created by REN TV and Star Media with the support of the Internet Development Institute (ANO "IRI"). The television premiere will be broadcast on REN TV channel.

The series is based on reliable historical facts related to the work of the Soviet and German military intelligence during the turning point of the Great Patriotic War in 1942-1943. The images of the main characters are collective, but they act in authentic historical realities.

Late autumn of 1942, the German command realizes that it is losing at Stalingrad, and desperately wants to take revenge in the Kursk protrusion. To prepare the ground for the coming counter-offensive, several groups of German saboteurs of the highest level of training are thrown into the Soviet rear. Their task is to carry out a number of sabotage operations, the ultimate goal of which is unknown, but the success of the coming German offensive directly depends on it. In a deadly battle with German saboteurs enters the intelligence group under the command of Andrei Losev. The enemy is strong and cunning and as if has some mystical sense, which helps him to be always one step ahead. But our scouts are indomitable on the trail of this dangerous "beast".

- We will focus the viewer's attention on this turning point of the Great Patriotic War: the large-scale German offensive was stopped, and our troops were preparing a counter-offensive, - says director Peter Amelin. - Perhaps everyone has heard of the Kursk Bulge. But few know that the victory of the Soviet troops in that great battle was greatly facilitated by the brilliant play of our scouts. We will try to convey the full scale of the Soviet intelligence work. The series will be saturated with action scenes, there will be shootouts, explosions of railroad trains, spy games and much more.
