American entrepreneur Ilon Musk and Boris Epstein, an adviser to US President-elect Donald Trump, have caused a scandal over appointments to government posts. This was reported on November 18 by the portal Axios, citing sources.

According to the portal, a "major scandal" between Musk and Epstein arose when the entrepreneur accused his opponent of disclosing to the media details about the transition of power to Trump, including appointments to posts. For his part, the adviser said he didn't know what Musk was talking about.

"The rift between Musk and Epstein came as no surprise to senior Trump staffers and confidants <...>," the publication said.

According to Axios, Trump's team is divided between those who have managed to connect with Musk and those who are "annoyed by the constant presence" of the businessman. In addition, Musk and Epstein are noted to be promoting different candidates for senior positions in the new administration,

Earlier on Nov. 18, Trump nominated Brendan Carr to be chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Carr immediately reacted to the appointment by thanking the honor.

Prior to that, on Nov. 15, former Assistant U.S. Attorney and legal analyst Glenn Kirchner noted that following the negative public reaction to Trump's nomination of Congressman Matt Gaetz as U.S. Attorney General, the politician would likely withdraw his nomination. Kirchner revealed that Trump was going to withdraw Goetz's name from the nomination, citing that the Justice Department would not support the decision.

Trump nominated Getz, a Florida congressman, to head the U.S. Justice Department on Nov. 13. The Florida Republican is an active Trump supporter and one of his staunchest allies.

On the same day, Trump announced that American entrepreneurs Ilon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy will head the new US government efficiency department. Prior to that, on November 12, Trump also made a number of appointments. He nominated Fox News host Pete Hegseth to head the Secretary of Defense. And announced that former US National Intelligence Director John Ratcliffe would become head of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) under the new administration.

The election for the 47th president of the United States took place on November 5. In the national vote, Trump received 51% of the vote, while Democratic candidate Kamala Harris received 47.4%. Later, the politician, speaking to supporters, called himself the 47th President of the United States and said that his goal as head of state considers the cessation of military conflicts in the world.
