In Russia, the demand for renting houses for New Year holidays has grown by 40% over the year. The number of bookings increased most strongly in the Krasnodar and Stavropol Territories, as well as in Adygea. This is stated in the results of a study of online housing reservation service "Sutno.ru" and fintech company Yumoney, which were read by "Izvestia" on November 19.

The experts found out that 31% of respondents will spend New Year holidays not far from home - they will go to their dacha or friends' dachas, travel around the neighborhood, rent a house in their own or nearby areas. Only 4% of respondents said that they will go to another country, and the majority (60%) do not want to leave home at all. Another 5% of the survey participants said that they have not yet decided how they will spend the January holidays.

Irina Polyakova, head of the corporate client support service at UMoneu, noted that respondents who are going on New Year's trips started booking hotels, apartments or houses and buying transportation tickets back in October. According to her, in recent years, Russians prefer to spend even New Year holidays close to home.

"This is evidenced by the data of UKassa. Thus, from October 20 to November 4, 2024, relative to last year, the turnover of Moscow sites that sell bus tickets has doubled, there were six times more purchases and three times more buyers. The average check almost at the same time became lower by 59% and amounted to 667 rubles. Analysts explain the decrease in the average check by the fact that trips to the region are popular," she said.

At the same time, according to the results of the study, the average cost of renting houses for these New Year vacations in Russia as a whole is 15,990 rubles per day. Compared to 2023 rates have increased by only 2%.

"People are already quite actively booking houses for the New Year. The average rental duration is three days. The most popular dates are December 30 and 31," - said the head of the analytics department of the Russian online housing reservation service "Sutno.ru" Airat Musin.

According to analysts, the largest number of reservations is in the Moscow and Leningrad regions, as well as in Karelia. In addition, the ten most popular regions include Krasnodar and Stavropol Territories, Yaroslavl, Vladimir, Kemerovo regions, Karachay-Cherkessia and Adygea.

The average cost of a house in the Moscow region for these holidays is 23 640 rubles per day, which is 4% more than a year ago. In the Kemerovo region the rate is 20 280 rubles (-10%), in the Leningrad region - 18 670 rubles (+24%), in the Vladimir region - 18 650 rubles (+6%), in the Yaroslavl region - 17 730 rubles (+4%), in Krasnodar Krai - Br14.940 (-11%), in Karachai-Cherkessia - Br14.910 (+3%), in Karelia - Br14.600 (+3%), in Adygea - Br11.960 (+7%), in Stavropol Krai - Br8.360 (+23%).

November 14, it was reported that the most budget travel option for the New Year may be a trip to Samara and Mineralnye Vody. At the same time, Russians will spend the most money if they go to Sochi and Kaliningrad. This is stated in the research results of the service of accommodation booking "Avito Travel" and the service of buying rail and air tickets "Kupibilet". Thus, the cost of a New Year's trip to Samara for a couple of travelers will be Br43.4 thousand, to Mineralnye Vody - Br45 thousand, to Sochi - Br58.4 thousand, to Kaliningrad - Br56.4 thousand.
