The murder of two women, which was committed in 1998, was solved in Astrakhan. This was reported on November 18 in the investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Russia (ICR) in the Astrakhan region.

According to the investigation, on November 28, 1998, the bodies of a 67-year-old woman and her 37-year-old daughter were found in an apartment in Leninsky district. It was established that they had been strangled. It is specified that as a result of penetration into the apartment, the intruders stole money and valuables totaling over 45 thousand rubles.

Despite the investigation, then the intruders could not be detained. The criminal case remained unsolved for 26 years.

"Resumed proceedings on the criminal case on the fact of murder of two women in 1998 on the grounds of a crime under paragraphs "a", "z" part 2 of article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Murder of two persons, coupled with robbery")", - stated in the Telegram-channel.

As a result of the renewed investigation, a man was detained, who later confessed to committing the crime. The identity of his accomplice has not been established. At the moment, the investigation continues.

Earlier, on November 13, in Crimea, law enforcement officers solved the murder of a businessman, committed in 1999. In November of this year, they established the involvement in the crime of two men, who are currently serving life sentences for murder and robbery, and one woman, who served time in prison for drugs and theft and is currently listed as deceased.
