French singer and composer Charles Dumont died at the age of 95. This was reported on Monday, November 18, the television channel BFMTV.

"Charles Dumont, who wrote, in particular, the composition Non, je ne regrette rien for Edith Piaf (French singer and actress. - Ed.), died on Sunday night to Monday in Paris at the age of 95 years," - stated in the message.

According to the publication, Dumont died in his home after a long illness.

Charles Dumont was born in Caoray in southwestern France on March 26, 1929. In 1960, his songs Non, je ne regrette rien and Mon Dieu were performed by the famous French singer Edith Piaf.

After Piaf's passing, he began to work with poet Jacques Brel (Dumont wrote the song Je m'en remets à toi - "I rely on you") and create songs for television shows such as Michel Vaillant and movies - Trafic by Jacques Tati in 1971, adds "Gazeta.Ru".

Since the 1970s, he began a solo career, receiving the Charles-Croix Academy Award for his songs Une chanson, Les amours impossibles.
