More than 17 thousand violations were detected at gas stations in Dagestan

Inspections at gas stations in Dagestan revealed more than 17 thousand violations, about 5 thousand of which relate to industrial safety. This was reported on Monday, November 18, in the press service of the head of the republic Sergei Melikov.

"The issue of eliminating shortcomings in the activities of gas stations was discussed at the meeting of the coordination meeting on law enforcement. <...> It was noted that the results of the inspection revealed more than 17 thousand violations. Almost 5 thousand of them relate to industrial safety", - stated in the message in the Telegram-channel.

Melikov noted that despite the measures taken, violations of labor, tax, land and town-planning legislation, as well as fire and industrial safety remain in this area. At the same time, the head of the region expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that the toughest measure of punishment is suspension of work and none of the enterprises has been deprived of its license.

He emphasized that as long as the beneficiaries of such facilities are not brought to justice, incidents at gas stations in the republic will continue. Melikov called on responsible authorities, deputies and public activists to take a tougher stance against gas stations, as it concerns the safety of people.

Earlier, on September 27, three explosions occurred at a gas station in Makhachkala, followed by a fire. The fire covered 500 square meters, and it was liquidated the next day. As a result of the incident , 13 people were killed. A criminal case was initiated, the court arrested the owner of the gas station.

Prior to that, the Ministry of Energy of Dagestan reported that as of the end of September, the inspection of 678 gas stations in the republic revealed more than 4.5 thousand violations of industrial safety requirements. The most frequent ones include the absence of gas alarms and violation of the terms of examination of devices.
