"Avtodor" installed innovative "stragglers" on the roads

For the first time in Russia, an innovative roller fence was installed in test mode. It was installed at the intersection of the Central Ring Road and the highway M-1 "Belarus" at exits and turns. This was reported by the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation in its Telegram channel on November 18.
The Ministry said that the construction consists of rotating barrels of polyurethane foam, three-dimensional buffer and retaining frames, as well as rigid supports. The fence is designed for a significant impact force equivalent to the impact of a bus weighing 15 tons at a speed of 74 km/h. It has a rich yellow color and reflective film for good visibility.
"On impact, the barrels rotate, redirecting vehicles and dissipating the energy of the collision. The guardrail should help reduce the number of severe accidents at highway exits and curves, reducing the risk of injury to drivers and passengers. Among other advantages - reducing the cost of repair of such structures in case of light accidents," - reported in the Ministry of Transport.
It is noted that the fence has successfully passed bench and field tests. Avtodor is considering the possibility of installing similar structures on the existing network of high-speed highways.
On October 16 it was reported that on M-11 "Neva" started an experiment on the application of musical markings - transverse noise strips with a musical effect. Passing through the section at the authorized speed, drivers can hear a fragment of the composition "Kalinka-malinka".
On September 10, the head of Avtodor, Vyacheslav Petushenko, said that the state company plans to create a database of users and vehicles that have traveled on toll roads to combat non-payers.
