French Foreign Ministry did not change position on strikes deep into Russian Federation

The possibility of authorizing Ukraine to strike Russian territories with French weapons is being studied. This was stated by French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot upon arrival at a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Brussels.

"<...> we would be ready to consider this option if it comes to authorization to hit the objects from which Russia carries out strikes on Ukrainian territory. So there is nothing new on this topic," he said.

Earlier in the day, the French newspaper Le Figaro removed information from the material published the day before that Paris and London were giving Ukraine permission to launch strikes deep inside Russia using long-range missiles.

It was specified that the text contained a fragment about the authorization to carry out strikes using Scalp/Storm Shadow missiles. Now in the publication remained only data on the authorization of Kiev to use long-range weapons from the U.S. side.
