The newest small missile ship Tucha will join the Russian Navy by the end of the year after state trials in the Caspian Sea. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on November 18.
"The small missile ship "Tucha" of Project 22800 is undergoing state tests in the Caspian Sea sea ranges. It is planned that the MSC Tucha, equipped with high-precision weapons, will join the Russian Navy by the end of this year," the statement said.
The ship was built at the Zelenodolsk shipyard. The tests, which are conducted by the delivery team of the enterprise, the crew of the MRK and the headquarters of the Caspian Flotilla, are aimed at checking the functioning of onboard systems, radio-electronic weapons and propulsion system. Their progress was reported to Navy Chief Admiral Alexander Moiseyev at a working meeting on surface shipbuilding.
Earlier, on November 15, Moiseyev promised that the Caspian Flotilla would be replenished with new ships and weapons systems. At the same time, he reminded that its combat composition already includes the latest ships equipped with high-precision weapons and support vessels.
Before that, on October 29, another MRK of Project 22800 - Rzhev - arrived at the delivery base in Vladivostok. It will be transferred to the Pacific Fleet after sea trials and transportation tests.
