In St. Petersburg, fraudsters defrauded a pensioner of 2.1 million rubles


Fraudsters posing as employees of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of the Russian Federation cheated an elderly resident of St. Petersburg of 2.1 million rubles. This was reported by a source of Izvestia on Monday, November 18.
The fraudsters contacted the 86-year-old woman by phone. They introduced themselves as FSB officers and persuaded her to give them the money, which they promised to allegedly keep from intruders.
The woman handed over 2.1 million rubles to an unknown man who came to her apartment.
A criminal case under part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation was initiated on the fact of the incident. The identities of the criminals are being established, CCTV footage is being reviewed.
Earlier, November 6, it was reported that Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Suren Shaumyan gave almost 4.4 million rubles to fraudsters under the pretext of the need to put the money into a "safe account". A criminal case was initiated under the article on fraud.
