Britain and France have a chance to reconsider their position on strikes deep into Russia. This statement was made on November 18 by Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia's post representative to international organizations in Vienna.

"They (France and the UK. - Ed.) have a chance to reconsider their position if they are concerned about the security of Europe," Ulyanov wrote in the social network X (former Twitter).

He added that now "there is no place for primitive political games."

The New York Times reported on Nov. 17 that current U. S. President Joe Biden authorized Ukraine to use U.S. long-range ATACMS missiles for strikes against Russia. It was later reported that France and the UK supported the decision.

American entrepreneur Ilon Musk responded to these reports by saying that "liberals love war." In addition, the son of US President-elect Donald Trump Donald Trump Jr. commenting on the situation, accused the American side of escalating the Ukrainian conflict. According to him, the military-industrial complex wants to make sure it can start a war.

Before that, on November 15, Deputy Pentagon spokeswoman Sabrina Singh said that the United States intends to supply Ukraine with all the weapons promised by the American leader before he leaves office. She pointed out that some equipment and systems will reach Ukraine very quickly, within days and weeks. In some cases, it could take months.

Western countries have stepped up military and financial support for Ukraine amid Russia's special operation to protect Donbass, which began on February 24, 2022. The decision to conduct it was made by the Russian president because of the aggravation of the situation in the region due to the increased shelling by Ukrainian troops.
