Belgorod region authorities handed over 1,000 UAV detectors to the border region

The authorities of Belgorod Region have handed over 1,000 detectors to the region's border areas for timely detection of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the sky in order to minimize the consequences of drone strikes. This was announced by the head of the region Vyacheslav Gladkov on November 18.
"More than 1 thousand detectors <...> we have already issued to local governments, residents of border municipalities, representatives of law enforcement agencies," he said in a video message in his Telegram channel.
Gladkov specified that such a device signals in advance that a drone is approaching, thanks to which people have the opportunity to take shelter in time and pass the information to neighbors. Residents of the region can learn more about the detectors from the heads of districts.
Earlier, on November 18, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the means of air defense overnight destroyed 59 drones of the AFU over five regions of the Russian Federation. It is specified that the drones were eliminated over the Moscow (two UAVs), Kursk (six UAVs), Bryansk (45 UAVs), Belgorod (three UAVs) and Tula regions (three UAVs).
Ukraine's armed forces are trying to strike Russian territories against the backdrop of the special operation in Donbass, the start of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
