Australian police have arrested former radio show host Alan Jones on charges that he indecently assaulted, groped or inappropriately touched young people over a 20-year period. This was reported by Reuters on November 18.

Alan Jones, who turned 83 this year, worked in radio for nearly four decades. Of those, he spent 18 years as the host of a morning radio show on Sydney's 2GB radio station.

Police confirmed the arrest of the 83-year-old man but did not name him. However, Australian media was able to identify Jones pulling up to the police station in a law enforcement vehicle.

The radio host is well known in Australia for actively advocating conservative ideas and asking politicians on his shows tricky questions live on air.

Earlier, November 15, it was reported about the capture of two suspects in the rape of a 14-year-old girl in a sauna in St. Petersburg. The incident occurred back in May, but the information about it came to the police in November. A criminal case has been opened. The possible involvement of the defendants in other similar crimes is being established.
