Abnormally high temperatures are recorded throughout Russia due to air transport from the Atlantic and global warming. Roman Vilfand, scientific head of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center, told about it on November 18.

"There are very high temperatures throughout the country. This is due to the fact that the air mass is carried from the Atlantic: when the air is carried from there - it is always warm. Due to the fact that global warming changes the circulation, the passage of Atlantic air to Siberia and especially to the Far East used to be extremely rare, but in this century, more and more often this situation occurs," he noted in a conversation with TASS.

According to the forecaster, in the European part of the country the temperature exceeds the norm by 4-5 degrees. At the same time, when the Atlantic air goes beyond the Urals, where temperature norms are very different, a colossal anomaly is observed there, Vilfand explained.

He pointed out that in the east of the Urals Federal District there are temperatures 15-16 degrees above normal values. In addition, above-normal values are predicted almost throughout Siberia and even in the west of Yakutia. Due to the transfer of warm Atlantic air masses, such a situation will be subsequently observed in the center of Yakutia, said the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center.

Earlier, on November 11, Vilfand said that in Russia the processes of climate warming are faster than on average in the world. According to his data, in temperate latitudes the process is 2.5 times faster than "the average globe", and in northern latitudes - 3.5 times.
