Washington forward Alexander Ovechkin scored the puck for the 177th goalie in the National Hockey League (NHL). Ilya Samsonov, the Russian goalie for the Vegas Golden Knights, conceded the goal and brought Ovechkin closer to Wayne Gretzky's record.

In the game against Vegas on November 17, Ovechkin opened the scoring in the sixth minute when he converted a power play.

In terms of the number of goalies to whom Ovechkin scored in the NHL championships, the Russian hockey player took second place in the history of the league, repeating the result of Patrick Marleau. The NHL record belongs to Jaromir Jagr, who scored 178 goalies. Ovechkin is 30 pucks away from Gretzky's record.

"At the moment on account of Ovechkin 21 (11+10) points in 17 games of the season", - writes "Sport-Express".

Earlier, on November 7, former Canadian hockey player Wayne Douglas Gretzky admitted that the Russian forward of the Washington Capitals Alexander Ovechkin will break his record for the number of scored pucks in the National Hockey League (NHL).
