Amid the ongoing internal debate over who should take the post of Treasury Secretary, US President-elect Donald Trump is considering new nominees for the post of the country's chief treasurer. This was reported by The New York Times (NYT) on November 17.

In its material, the publication said that the new Secretary of the Treasury may become former head of the Federal Reserve System Kevin Warsh, who is sympathetic to Trump.

According to the newspaper's interlocutors, Trump tends to value wealth and status on Wall Street. The Republican's inner circle also knows that he is very impressed with Apollo Global Management CEO and co-founder Mark Rowan.

It was expected that either Howard Lutnick, who is the CEO of Cantor Fitzgerald, Scott Bessent, the founder of investment firm Key Square Capital Management, or former U.S. Treasury executive George Soros would be the next Treasury Secretary.

However, Trump is still in contemplation, the NYT clarified. He is unhappy with Lutnick's overreach and the fact that the billionaire is manipulating the transition process in his own interests.

Earlier, on November 17, The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) pointed out the public nature of the fight for the post of head of the U.S. Treasury, when some of the most influential supporters of the Republican expressed their support for Howard Lutnick on social networks.

Moreover, on this day, it was revealed that Trump had nominated Chris Wright to be Secretary of Energy. He noted that Chris is a leading technologist and entrepreneur in the energy sector.

Then it was also reported that Trump selected Carolyn Leavitt as White House press secretary. Previously, the 27-year-old Levitt was responsible for communication with the press during the Republican's election campaign.

The election of the 47th president of the United States was held on November 5. In the national vote, Trump received 51% of the votes, and the candidate from the Democrats Kamala Harris - 47.4%. Later, the politician, speaking to supporters, called himself the 47th President of the United States and said that his goal as head of state considers the end of military conflicts in the world.
