A baby girl weighing 400 g was released in Moscow's perinatal center

The Moscow perinatal center "Kommunarka" has released a girl who had an extremely low birth weight of only 400 g. This was reported on November 15 by the press service of the capital depzdrav in its Telegram-channel.

The woman was admitted to the medical center in the 24th week of pregnancy, there was a threat of miscarriage and severe pre-eclampsia. Doctors decided to perform a caesarean section. As a result, a girl weighing 400 g and 29 cm tall was born, reports the website kp.ru.

Breathing of the newborn for 23 days supported with the help of ventilator, complications were avoided. The girl received mother's milk from the first days, and a month later she was transferred to natural nutrition. After 4.5 months the child was discharged from the hospital. She grew to 46 cm and gained weight to 2740 g, reports Life.ru.

November 14, 360.ru wrote that 10 more premature babies were released in Voskresensk hospital in 2024. The Voskresensk hospital has created conditions to provide the necessary assistance to babies born prematurely.

In October, the press service of the Ministry of Health of the Moscow region reported that since the beginning of the year, doctors in the region have saved almost 260 newborns with extremely low body weight. The region has created a three-level system of obstetrics and six perinatal centers and the regional Research Institute of Obstetrics and Gynecology, where high-tech assistance is provided, according to the Moscow City News Agency.
