An army aviation crew on a Mi-28 helicopter, as part of a mixed tactical group, struck personnel and a stronghold of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the border area of Kursk Region with air missiles. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on November 18.

After the coordinates from the aviation spotter were transmitted, the pilots of the army aviation performed missile launches at the target and hit the stronghold and personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

The crews then performed anti-missile maneuvering at extremely low altitude with the firing of heat traps preventing the missiles from hitting the man-portable air defense missile system (MANPADS).

Earlier, on November 17, the Russian Defense Ministry published footage of the destruction of an armored combat vehicle (ACV) of the AFU in the border area of the Kursk region. It is noted that after reconnaissance it was decided to fire, after which the grouping of troops "North" destroyed the target with a direct strike using an FPV drone.

Ukrainian militants attacked Russian positions in the border areas of the Kursk region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a state of emergency of federal character. The operation to destroy the AFU continues.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by the Russian Federation on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
