The jury will consider a new criminal case against Sergei Balikhin - the leader of the "Yellow Chrysanthemums" gang, which killed merchants and robbed jewelry stores in Moscow in the 2000s. This was told "Izvestia" in the capital's investigative department of the Investigative Committee (IC).
On account of Balikhin, sentenced to life imprisonment in 2014, more than a dozen robberies and murders. Now there are new episodes in the case - Balikhin confessed to the murder of a businesswoman in 2007 and a cab driver in 2010.
"They found out that she leaves the house to work at seven in the morning, armed themselves and waited outside her apartment for her to leave. Using violence, they entered the apartment, tied her up and demanded money. Balikhin had a gun and three live grenades with him - as he later explained, in case the police arrived," said the investigator.
According to the materials of the criminal case, the gang killed their victims with particular cruelty with a gun, which the gang leader Balikhin, nicknamed Golos, hid in a bouquet of yellow chrysanthemums. As the criminal later admitted to the investigation, it was "convenient" for him to hide the weapon in the bouquet.
As follows from the indictment and sentence, during the robberies Golos spared no one, killing even women and children.
