Poland may give Ukraine Russian consulate building in Poznan

Ukrainemay occupy the building of the Russian consulate in Poland, located in Poznan. This was reported by the RFM24 radio station on November 16.
"The lease agreement for this property expires at the end of this month. The current network of Ukrainian consulates, given the unprecedented growth in the number of Ukrainian citizens in Poland, does not reflect consular needs," Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski commented.
When asked by journalists whether it would be possible to give the building of the Russian consulate to Ukraine, the diplomat said that the republic "would look at such a request from Kiev with the greatest sympathy".
The decision of the Polish Foreign Ministry to close the Russian consulate general in Poznan became known on October 22. The head of the diplomatic department Radoslaw Sikorski unsubstantiatedly accused Russian security services of attempts to organize sabotage in the country and linked his decision to the allegedly ongoing Russian "hybrid warfare" against Poland and its allies.
At the same time, Sikorski allowed the expulsion of the Russian ambassador. He pointed out that the country had already imposed restrictions on the movement of Russian diplomats to "make it difficult to act incompatible with diplomatic status." Reacting to this, Zakharova replied that the Polish foreign minister "doesn't know how to do anything else."
