A farewell to Mariinsky Theatre premier Vladimir Shklyarov will be held in St. Petersburg on November 21. This was announced on November 17 by ballet reviewer and friend of the artist Alexei Bezobrazov.

"Farewell to Volodya will take place on Thursday 21.11," he wrote in the social network Instagram (owned by Meta, recognized as extremist in Russia, banned).

He noted that the farewell will be held in the white foyer of the Mariinsky Theater, and the artist will be buried at the Smolensk cemetery.

The press service of the theater reported about the death of the artist at the age of 39 on November 16.

Prima ballerina of the Mariinsky Theater Renata Shakirova commented "Izvestia" Shklyarov's death. According to her, the premier of the theater fully gave himself to the stage.

In 2003, Shklyarov graduated from the Academy of Russian Ballet named after A.Y. Vaganova. Vaganova, after which he became a member of the company. In 2011 he was awarded premiere status at the Mariinsky Theatre. His repertoire has included classical ballets and contemporary choreography. The soloist has been awarded the title of Honored Artist of the Russian Federation.
