Russian women take all prizes at blitz chess tournament in India


Russian chess players won the blitz at the Tata Steel Chess India Open in India, winning the entire podium. This was reported by the Russian Chess Federation in its Telegram channel on November 17.
According to the results of the tournament, Grandmaster Katerina Lagno took the first place with 11.5 points out of a possible 18. Valentina Gunina took second place with 11 points, 0.5 points behind Lagno. The last prize place went to Alexandra Goryachkina, she has 9.5 points.
"The men's game was won by Magnus Carlsen (Norway) - 13 out of 18 possible. <...> Russian Daniil Dubov shared the fifth place, but fell behind Vidit (India) on additional indicators," - noted in the message.
Earlier, on November 8, Russian chess player Alexandra Goryachkina won the second round of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) Grand Prix series, held in the Kazakh city of Shymkent.
