The Main Military Investigation Directorate of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia has opened a criminal case in connection with the death of the editor-in-chief of "Narodnaya Gazeta" in Kursk region. This was reported in the Telegram-channel of the agency on November 17.

The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation opened a case of terrorist attack after a Ukrainian drone attack on a car of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in the Kursk region, which killed the editor-in-chief of the "Narodnaya Gazeta" Yulia Kuznetsova and injured two other people.

"Military investigators qualified the criminal actions of militants of the VFU (armed formations of Ukraine. - Ed.), as well as other Ukrainian paramilitary groups and members of mercenary formations under paragraph "b" part 3 of article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Terrorist act resulting in the death of a person")", - stated in the message.
