A single coordination council of humanitarian organizations will appear in Kazan

The first open humanitarian forum "Kazan for the Special Military Operation" opened in the capital of Tatarstan on Thursday, November 21. According to the website of the city mayor's office, the platform united activists helping the front, manufacturers of products for the special military operation, representatives of enterprises, organizations of the city and participants of the SWO. In addition, the forum decided to create a coordinating council, which aims to unite humanitarian organizations.
The forum "Kazan for the Special Military Operation" was opened at the Moskovsky Cultural Center on the initiative of Mayor Ilsur Metshin. For humanitarian organizations of Tatarstan this meeting was the first in such a format. Activists had an opportunity to discuss together with representatives of government and business how to make assistance to the participants of the NWO more effective, how to improve the mechanisms of humanitarian activities. Among the participants of the event there were 60 different volunteer associations.
Within the framework of the forum, activists even organized an exhibition of achievements of the "people's OPC". Among the exhibits there are anti-fluorescent ponchos, trench candles, camouflage nets, fireplaces, stretchers, military special suits, tactical first aid kits, freeze-dried food, which volunteers make themselves according to the orders of fighters and then deliver directly to the special operation zone. The visitors were also able to see the elements for drones, made on 3D printers, as well as the drones themselves, both attack drones and airplane-type drones.
The forum continued with a plenary session, at which Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin spoke. Speaking to the volunteers, the mayor expressed his admiration for their work, noting that they do everything and even more to help the fighters at the front, to protect their lives.
"It didn't start out easy, and we traveled this road together. The city sent to the front and to new regions 83 trucks with humanitarian aid, a total of 1.6 thousand tons of building materials, food, medicines and much more. It was a new job for everyone. We also took part in sending our guys to the front line as prepared as possible. During this time we have accumulated more than 2 billion rubles to support special operations and continue this work," emphasized the head of the city.
The Mayor's Office website notes that Kazan has developed city support measures for the families of special operations participants. More than 6.2 thousand children are under the patronage of the local administration today. For example, more than 3.7 thousand students receive free two meals a day, 1.7 thousand children are exempted from parental fees for supervision and care in pre-school institutions. Psychological assistance and counseling for relatives of the fighters has also been organized. As part of the processing of messages received by the hotline, families are helped with food and necessary medicines, medical services, payment for housing and utilities, repair and purchase of household appliances and so on. Volunteers provided assistance to 145 families.
During the forum "Kazan for Svoih" Ilsur Metshin supported the idea of the participants of the event to create a coordinating council, which will be able to unite both humanitarian organizations and the register of bona fide humanitarian workers. Anna Artemyeva, co-founder of the movement "We Do Not Abandon Our Own 16", explained that many activists know each other and help each other with applications and logistics. But there are also scammers, which could be protected from by creating a special registry that would include verified volunteers and a council that would unite all the movements.
"Let's join forces, let's not put this off in a long box. We will be with you in this work, which will become daily. I propose to systematically organize this cause and unite all the streams into a big beautiful ocean of help for our fighters. There are things that we will be able to realize today," Metshin noted.
Head of the movement "Za Pobeda! Kazan" Evgenia Kotsar noted that many boys are left fatherless because of the SVO, and therefore suggested creating a large cadet school in Kazan, equipped with a swimming pool, gym and classrooms, where the boys could receive support from mentors and patriotic education.
"I would like to point out that we have many teen clubs in every district of the city. They are comfortable, we have renovated them. It is also possible to hold such patriotic classes in them. We have qualified professional teachers, who are engaged with children", - noted, in turn, the mayor.
The initiative to create a special award - a medal "Volunteer of Kazan" - was also voiced during the forum. This issue is planned to be submitted to the Kazan City Council on November 22.
