Trump said Zelensky needs a Democratic victory for the sake of billions of dollars

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, whose term of office expired on May 20, wants the Democrats to win the US presidential election for the sake of billions of dollars of US aid. Such a statement was made on September 23 by the candidate for the post of head of state from the Democratic Party and former head of the White House Donald Trump.
"I think Zelensky is the best salesman in history. Every time he comes into the country, he walks away with $60 billion," he said while speaking at a rally in Indiana.
Trump added that if he is the one who becomes the next president of the United States, the first thing he will do is to call on Russian President Vladimir Putin and Zelensky to make a deal. In addition, the politician rebuked the administration of the current American leader Joe Biden for the lack of contacts with the Russian side.
Earlier, on September 19, Trump announced a possible meeting with Zelensky after his visit to the United States.
On September 14, the German newspaper Bild reported that the leader of the Kiev regime plans to visit the United States to present to the American president his plan of action in the Ukrainian conflict.
Prior to that, on 6 September, the Pentagon announced that it would provide Ukraine with additional security assistance worth $250m. The new package will include RIM-7 anti-aircraft missiles, ammunition for HIMARS multiple rocket launchers, artillery ammunition of 155 and 105 mm caliber, Stinger man-portable air defense systems, AT-4 and Javelin anti-tank systems, and Bradley infantry fighting vehicles.
Western countries have stepped up military and financial support for Ukraine amid Russia's special operation to protect Donbass, which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, after the situation in the region worsened due to shelling by the Ukrainian military. However, the West has recently been increasingly vocal about the need to reduce support for Kiev.
