Troop Group "Vostok" thwarted attempts to reinforce AFU positions


The units of the Vostok group of troops have foiled attempts by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) to reinforce forward positions, rotate and move reserves in the areas of the settlements of Storozhevoye, Cherivnoye, Novoukrainka and Lugovskoye. This was reported by the head of the grouping's press center Alexander Gordeev in a conversation with TASS.
"In the course of active actions, the units of the Vostok group improved the situation along the front line, prevented the enemy from reinforcing forward positions, conducting rotations, advancing reserves and bringing in ammunition," Gordeev said.
As the head of the press center added, artillery fire and heavy flamethrower systems also hit strongholds and places of accumulation of manpower and equipment of the 72nd mechanized and 58th motorized infantry brigades of the AFU, 102nd brigade of territorial defense in the areas of Ugledar, Oktyabr, Zaliznichnoye and Gulyaypol. Gordeev noted that during the day Russian servicemen destroyed ten enemy unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the airplane type.
Earlier in the day, in Zaporizhzhya region, a team of FPV drone operators from the 58th Combined Armed Forces Army of the Dnipro group of forces destroyed a temporary deployment point of the AFU. The TDC was located in an abandoned building where satellite and radio communication systems were installed. The servicemen also detected, tracked the movement and hit the enemy's living force in the concealed positions.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
