A new route of river electric transport will be launched in Moscow in 2025. This was announced on Monday, September 23, by Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of the capital for Transport and Industry.

Specialists are currently conducting the necessary research, as well as modeling traffic flows. According to Liksutov, river transportation has already demonstrated its efficiency. The townspeople have made more than 1.3 million trips since, writes "Moscow 24". According to forecasts, this number will exceed 1.5 million by the end of 2024.

"We continue to develop the Moskva River as a transportation artery of the city on the instructions of Sergei Sobyanin," the official emphasized.

The creation of a new river route will allow more than 60 thousand residents of Danilovsky, Tagansky and Yuzhnoportovoy districts, as well as Zamoskvorechye to get access to innovative transportation. Along with the launch of the new route it is supposed to open up to six berths-stops near large residential complexes, reports the agency of city news "Moscow".

In June in the capital opened new berths "Beregovoy" and "Park Fili". Four new electric vessels "Kamenka", "Pakhra", "Lublinka" and "Kuznetsovka" went on the route, writes NSN. During the work of regular river routes they were used by more than 800 thousand passengers.

In 2023, Muscovites and guests of the capital about 400 thousand times used trips on two routes of river transport. As noted by Liksutov, more and more often the citizens choose electric boats as transportation for their daily trips, reports 360.ru.
