Saudi Arabia has called for a halt to conflicts in the Middle East

Saudi Arabia calls on the global community to use its influence and responsibility to stop conflicts in the Middle East. A statement to this effect was published on the official page of the Kingdom's Foreign Ministry in the social network X (former Twitter).
"The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is following with great concern the developments taking place on the territory of Lebanon and once again warns of the danger of expanding violence in the region, as well as the dangerous consequences of escalation on security and stability in the region.... The Kingdom calls on the international community and influential parties to use their role and responsibility to end conflicts in the region," the statement said.
Also, the Saudi Foreign Ministry said that it is necessary to preserve stability in Lebanon by all means.
On September 23, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched massive strikes on the facilities of the Shiite Hezbollah movement in Lebanon. One of them was struck in Beirut. The Israeli General Staff indicated that the country was conducting a pre-emptive operation to destroy the infrastructure of the Shiite organization. It was reported that the strikes claimed the lives of 492 people.
Prior to that, on Sept. 22, the IDF reported that Lebanon fired more than 100 rockets at Israel that were intercepted or landed in open terrain. The Jerusalem Post reported that three people were lightly injured in the city of Haifa after Hezbollah fire.
The situation in the Middle East escalated on the morning of October 7, 2023, when the Palestinian radical movement Hamas launched a massive rocket attack from the Gaza Strip into Israel, invaded border areas in the south and took hostages. On the same day, Israel began retaliatory strikes.
