Serbian President awards Nebenza with an order for supporting the country at the UN

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has presented Russian Permanent Representative Vasily Nebenza with the Order of the Serbian Banner, First Class, for his outstanding contribution to the development and strengthening of international cooperation and friendly relations between Russia and Serbia. This was announced by Russia's Permanent Mission to the United Nations (UN) in its Telegram channel on September 23.
"Once again I would like to thank you for the friendly relations we are developing, for the help you gave us here in New York during the discussion of the resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica. I hope that we can further strengthen the cooperation between our peoples and our countries to such a level that we will all be satisfied," the president said.
In response, Nebenzya thanked Vucic and noted that Russia and Serbia have had brotherly relations for centuries. Thus, he recalled the time of World War II, when both countries fought against Nazism and "suffered terrible losses."
Also awarded with the Order of the Serbian Flag II degree were the deputy postpresidents Anna Evstigneyeva and Maria Zabolotskaya. The ceremony took place at the Serbian post office at the UN.
Earlier, on September 5, EU foreign policy spokesman Peter Stano stressed that threats and blackmail will not make Serbia to renounce cooperation with Russia and respect European values.
In March, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said that Western countries were constantly putting pressure on Serbia because of its non-recognition of the self-proclaimed Kosovo, military neutrality, Belgrade's attitude towards the Ukrainian conflict and refusal to impose sanctions against Russia.
