Farmers in Belgorod region told of regular attacks by AFU drones

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) regularly attack agricultural fields in the border area of Belgorod Region with the help of drones and fire cluster munitions at them. Images from one of such plots were published by Izvestia on September 23.

According to the general director of the agricultural enterprise Vitaly Eremenko, his colleagues recently managed to save a civilian injured in a drone attack.

"We rescued a guy. We loaded him, transported him. We were passing by, a drone flew into his car. Unfortunately, operated on him yesterday. Lost his leg. Thank God he's alive. The guys just drove in time, were in the right place at the right time," he said.

As the chief of the guard of the 52nd fire and rescue unit of the town of Shebekino Artem Koptev said, agricultural machinery is often under fire from Ukrainian militants. Employees of the enterprises usually cope with the consequences by their own forces. In some cases, firefighters, whose vehicles are also under attack, are involved in extinguishing fires, he added.

"Our car is like a red rag for a bull, so they mostly try and try to attack the fire truck. If there will be a military vehicle standing next to us, then the attack is on us," Koptev noted.

Earlier in the day, a child and two adults were killed as a result of the AFU shelling of the village of Arkhangelskoye in the Shebekinsky district of Belgorod region. In addition, on Monday night, air defense meansdestroyed four Ukrainian drones over the territory of the region. As reported by its governor Vyacheslav Gladkov, 10 cars and the glazing of six apartments were damaged in the town of Gubkin after the UAV crash.

Ukrainian militants are trying to strike Russian territories against the backdrop of the special operation in Donbass, the start of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
