In Kherson Region, the chief doctor of the hospital in the town of Alyoshki, Volodymyr Kharlan, and his driver were wounded in a terrorist attack carried out by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was reported by the governor of the region Volodymyr Saldo on September 23.

"The doctor himself and his driver were wounded. <...> Our operators have been tasked with destroying the terrorists, and the enemy will not get away with just the perpetrators," Saldo wrote in his Telegram channel.

According to him, the AFU purposefully followed from the drone a white medical "Niva" on which the doctor and his wife were traveling.

Earlier in the day, the Chairman of the Government of the Kherson region Andrey Alekseenko said that as a result of a terrorist attack on the chief doctor of the hospital killed his wife, and the doctor himself miraculously survived. Alekseenko emphasized that thousands of cured patients of Harlan, including hundreds of rescued wounded, are now sending words of support to the doctor.

Before that, on August 18, the governor of the Kherson region, Vladimir Saldo, drew attention to the fact that the AFU is unable to defeat the Russian military, so they have turned to terrorist tactics and attack civilians and civilian infrastructure.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken amid the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
