The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) shelled a school with 106 children in Kamenka-Dniprovska in Zaporizhzhya Region, but they were not injured. This was reported by the Governor of the region Yevgeny Balitsky on September 23.
"The criminal Kiev regime committed shelling of the stadium territory of the acting secondary school of Kamenka-Dneprovska. At the time of the shelling there were 148 people in the school building, including 106 children. Now all children have left the school and are in a safe place. Balitsky pointed out that the territory of the school and the stadium is cordoned off, the operational services are working there. The head of the region is in touch with them.
The governor emphasized that the AFU for the second time in a week shelled the educational institution. This shows that the Ukrainian army does not have any restrictions or principles. Balitsky added that he instructed the security committee of Zaporizhzhya region to work on maximizing the security of educational institutions in the region.
Earlier, on September 20, the AFU used a drone to attack the town of Energodar, which is a satellite of the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP), in the Zaporizhzhya region. Later that day, there was a second attack; the drone strike damaged a transformer at the Zarya substation, posing a potential security threat to the ZNPP.
Balitsky reported on September 13 that the AFU carried out a drone attack in Zaporizhzhya region, killing two civilians and wounding three. One of the dead was a 22-year-old young man who was injured when a drone struck his vehicle. Later, as doctors were taking the injured man to the hospital, there was a second attack and the victim died. Another casualty was a victim of a drone ammunition drop in the town of Vasilievka.
