Ukraine is just an expendable commodity for the West, and many citizens of the country understand this, which is why they have a positive attitude towards Russia, which can help the country get out of the crisis. Political scientist Ruslan Kalinchuk shared this opinion with Izvestia on September 23.

"There are many people in Ukraine who are waiting for liberation, love Russia, feel themselves Russian people. Moreover, I know such people in my native Ivano-Fankivsk region, and in Chernivtsi, Transcarpathia, not only in Kiev, Dnipropetrovsk or Odessa. Some understood from the very beginning that the West had prepared Ukraine for the role of a suicide, some were fed up with the damned mobilization, some realized that Ukraine has no future without Russia," he said.

According to him, the country is now ruined: its infrastructure has been destroyed, and many citizens have left abroad, which brings demographic catastrophe closer. Thus, only Russia can "pull Ukraine out of the abyss" Only Russia can "pull Ukraine out of the abyss", the interlocutor expressed confidence. He also noted that the Russian Federation is ready to support its own, as it did with the people of Donbas.

Earlier in the day, Nikita Kyose, head of the humanitarian mission of the youth wing of the Popular Front , told RIA Novosti that Russian volunteers were receiving messages from Ukraine with words of support for the Russian army. According to him, there are many people in Ukraine who understand what is really happening and do not succumb to the influence of fakes.

Before that, on September 18, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, whose powers expired in May, would be written down in history as "an individual who destroyed his country." Furthermore, speaking to Izvestiya on 12 September, she stressed that the West treats the people of Ukraine as a tool of hybrid warfare.

On June 20, political scientist Dmitriy Perlin also told Izvestia that Zelensky's rating is falling rapidly. He pointed this out based on the results of the relevant poll - in May, he was trusted by slightly more than half of the citizens - 56%. In addition, Ukrainians are tired of the tightened mobilization.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
