"Odnoklassniki, LizaAlert, a volunteer search and rescue team, and the Altsrus Foundation announce the beginning of cooperation. The topic of the first socially significant project will be dementia. OC users will be able to learn more about this condition, as well as ask questions to experts.

The start of the special project is timed to coincide with World Dementia Awareness Month, which takes place in September. For OC, LizaAlert and the Alcrus Foundation, this is an opportunity not only to draw attention to this condition, but also to prevent elderly people from going missing.

Useful posts will appear in the LizaAlert group and in the Social Projects group of OC: for example, on how to recognize dementia, how to prevent your loved one who has this disease from going missing, and what to do if you find a person with dementia. In support of the project, the famous search and rescue squad will release an exclusive avatar frame for social media users.

On September 26, a live broadcast will be held in the LizaAlert group. Speakers will be Tatiana Alexandrova, coordinator of the squad "LizaAlert", and Alexandra Shchetkina, head of the fund "Altsrus", which helps people with dementia and their families.

Only since the beginning of 2024, the squad "LizaAlert" has received more than 8,000 applications to search for elderly people, a third of whom are related to dementia. According to data cited by the Alzrus Foundation, one in ten people over the age of 60 has dementia, and at the very beginning this condition may not be noticeable to those around them. According to statistics, Alzheimer's disease is the cause of dementia in the elderly in two thirds of cases.
