Irkutsk Oblast Education Minister commented on the attack at the school

Maxim Parfyonov, Minister of Education of the Irkutsk Region, said after a student with a hammer attacked his classmates at Balagansk School No. 1 that he would hold a school parents' meeting to help normalize the situation. He announced this on September 23 in his Telegram channel.

He noted that psychology specialists from the Center for Prevention, Rehabilitation and Correction will be brought in to work with children and their parents.

"On the instructions of Irkutsk Region Governor Igor Ivanovich Kobzev, we are working out this situation on the spot with law enforcement agencies," the minister added, noting that the victims were given the necessary medical care and released home.

"Balagansk school № 1 is quite small, it has about 400 children, everyone knows each other, so such situations are not easy," - added the Minister.

It is specified that the investigating authorities are conducting a check and all necessary procedural actions with the teenager who attacked the eighth-graders.

Earlier in the day it became known about the attack of a pupil of the 8th grade on peers when they were changing for physical education. He broke into the locker room and started swinging a hammer. The blows came to those who were standing closer. As a result, three children were injured.

September 16, at school № 68 in Chelyabinsk, a student attacked other students and teachers with a hammer, the emergency occurred after a conflict between the student and his classmates. As a result, five people were injured: four children and one adult. Criminal cases have been opened under articles on the organization of murder and negligence, the attacker has been detained. The Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko took control of the situation with the provision of assistance.
