Russian Federation announces readiness to consider forms of Mongolia's interaction with the CSTO

Russia has always welcomed Mongolia's contacts with the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and is ready to consider any forms of interaction and partnership, Russian Ambassador to Mongolia Alexei Yevsikov told Izvestia.

"As for Mongolia's possible joining the CSTO, according to Mongolian law, the country cannot join military-political blocs. Nevertheless, we have always welcomed its contacts with the organization and are ready to consider any forms of interaction and partnership," he said.

In addition, the Selenga joint exercise between Russia and Mongolia ended in August 2024. The exercises have been successfully held since 2008 and have become a hallmark of military cooperation between the two countries, the ambassador added.
