First Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations (UN) Dmitry Polyansky has called the pact adopted at the "Summit of the Future" unbalanced. The diplomat wrote about this on September 22 in his account in the social network X (former Twitter).

"The pact is not balanced and contains very dangerous provisions that will have unpleasant consequences and undermine the multilateralism and intergovernmental nature of the UN. <....> This is a huge blow to the organization as a whole," the statement said.

Polyansky noted that in adopting the document, the UN compromised its own principles to please some delegations, while the rest lacked the courage to "protest and defend their rights."

"As a result, there was no inclusive negotiation process in the usual sense of the term," he concluded.

On September 22, the Pact of the Future was adopted at the UN General Assembly (GA) meeting. Russia, Belarus, Belarus, Nicaragua, DPRK, Syria, Sudan and Iran opposed the adoption of the document. Another 15 countries abstained from voting, 143 supported it.

On the eve of the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova drew attention to the fact that September 22-23 in New York will be held "Summit of the Future" on the eve of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly. It will consider the proposals of the organization's Secretary General António Guterres on strengthening multilateral cooperation. Some of them envision reforms in the UN.

On the same day, Zakharova emphasized that Russia is one of the founding states of the UN and a responsible member of the international community, which together with partners from the world majority will continue to fight for a multipolar world order.

Earlier in September, Associate Professor of Political Philosophy and Geopolitics, consultant in strategic analysis, geopolitics and international relations, publisher and journalist Lorenzo Pocini said that Russia is the leading country in a multipolar world. Pochini emphasized that the people of Europe are dissatisfied with the Russophobia that is imposed by their governments and would like to have more friendly relations with the Russian Federation.
