The Cross the Nation mass race was held in Moscow


On Saturday, September 21, the Cross Nation mass race was held in Moscow as part of the All-Russian Running Day.
One of the participants of the sporting event said that she has been involved in sports since childhood, and her love for running was instilled in her by her father. This year, according to the runner, her four-year-old daughter also took part in the competition.
"I love sports and everything that is connected with it. I love running. It was passed on from my dad, my four-year-old daughter participated in the race. It's a super emotion. Gives positivity, health, communication. I am delighted," she admitted.
Another participant of the sporting event took part in the race in the category "60+". The man said that running has been present in his life since childhood, and the main sport used to be ski racing.
"Today in the category "60+", and it is rather a symbolic such a gesture for myself, for my body, to try to be in this atmosphere where sport is friendly with competition, " the runner shared.
According to him, in this category runners are people who "support a healthy lifestyle" and want to become examples for young people.
The distances of the race vary depending on the age and training of a particular category of runners - from 200 meters to 10 km. All participants of the "Cross of the Nation" will receive a commemorative medal or diploma.
"Cross Nation" is an all-Russian mass running competition. It is held every year throughout the country. The event is held within the framework of the federal project "Sport is the norm of life" of the national project "Demography".
In May, Russian President Vladimir Putin supported the idea of Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko to form a single comprehensive state sports program.
In the same month, the head of the Ministry of Sport Mikhail Degtyarev said that in his position he intends to work on the issue of improving the health of citizens. According to him, the task now is to bring the number of people engaged in sports to 70% by 2030. Degtyarev also noted that in his work he will emphasize mass sports.
