The "North" troop grouping defeated 10 AFU brigades in Kursk region

The "North" group of troops has defeated 10 brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) over the past 24 hours and thwarted attempts at counterattacks in the Kursk Region. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on Saturday, September 21.

"The units of the "North" group of troops continued offensive operations, during which they defeated the formations of the 22nd, 41st, 115th mechanized, 17th tank, 82nd and 95th airborne assault brigades, the 1st brigade of the National Guard, as well as the 103rd, 112th and 129th brigades of the territorial defense of the AFU," the ministry said.

According to the agency, the brigades were located in the areas of the settlements of Lyubimovka, Daryino, Nikolo-Daryino, Tolsty Lug, Malaya Loknya and Plekhovo. In addition, it is noted that the RF Armed Forces thwarted the attempts of the enemy counterattacks in the direction of the settlements of Kamyshevka and Lyubimovka.

Earlier in the day, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that a drone crew of the Arctic Brigade of the Dnepr group of troops destroyed the Ukrainian electronic surveillance station Plastun in the Kakhovsky direction. The station was discovered with the help of a reconnaissance drone. Having received the coordinates, the Russian military hit Plastun with an attack drone.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
